Anyone else play any other mods for the Half-life series?? I've seen a lot of people playing Team Fortress 2 lately, do you guys play anything else? I wish Perfect Dark Source worked a bit better, and I also played a bit of Dystopia, but that was just to crazy and hardcore for me to get into. Goldeneye Source is more my style.  Tongue

the new zombie panic source came out!
http://www.zombiepanic.org/site/index.php
but its still very beta

but 1 of the best mods i have seen so far for source (except for goldeneye of course) is the hidden
http://www.hidden-source.com/downloads.htm

and of course black mesa source (ie half life 1 remake), the videos on the site gave me a raging e-boner
http://www.blackmesasource.com/

BTW is it possible for you to host a prefect dark server for a night, im sure i could bully a few ppl on my friend list 2 come in and play

Yea the hidden is pretty cool. I like Fortress Forever as well.

About the Perfect Dark server. I just recently got a new machine...so that is actually a very good possibility. He told me the computer had problems, but to be honest it works like a charm once all the BS was ended in the task manager. Supposedly PD:Source is plagued by crashes, but I know for sure there is a version that works. I'll research it a bit, probably put a server up, and then let you guys know on here exactly which files to install to play.

did loodle say he was on the PDsource mod team?
because i remember him saying the mod was stable b4 they released the update
look on the site http://www.pdark-mod.com/?page=dl&s_lang=english
that would explain why the update come in a patch and not in a full install
as well as the only PDsource server up (it believe its the official 1) is running the older version

Yea that's what I figured...I'm still working on getting the new server I received up and going...then I'll install the PD:S server and what not. If I'm bored tonight, maybe I'll just end up doing that.

i love team fortress 2.  i've been known to play insurgency from time to time though.  that's a really high quality mod.  almost retail quality.

If I had a better computer to play on I would definitely be in to TF2, so for now if I want to do fortress I stick to Quake 1 Mega TF  Tongue Grin or Fortress Forever. I really like the classic feel to it, but TF2 does look pretty damn sweet. I remember reading an article way back in the day in a magazine about "TF2" - I believe it was around the time when Counter-Strike did it's thing. (Beta 6) I remember it had screenshots of paratroopers falling from the sky. Funny stuff...

yeah, you're talking the original TF2 they were developing before right before they made the source engine.  it's kinda funny that they started developing TF2 originally in 2002.  have you tried insurgency though?

if u can get 60+fps on goldeneye you can play TF2 just fine

if u look online u can still find videos of TF2 on the gold-source engine

and i believe MODdb voted insurgency as mod of the year, and i can see why. Its kick ass!

was it insurgency or zombie panic that they voted as MOTY?  i wish more people were playing insurgency though.  1.0 only played well for some people so there was a huge drop-off in activity.  seriously, when that mod first released it was paralleling CS:S in numbers then it just dropped to 150-200 people on average.  beta 2.0's out now and that has major fixes and adds tons of shit to the game too.  it's a shame none of the steam community stuck with it.

EDIT:  also, check out pirates, vikings and knights II.  the newest beta's out and adds major stability to it.  it's also a bit more balanced.
