Well, I was wondering what everyone likes as far as battling goes when it comes to the 1.1h patch. As most of you know, we can now use the regular map loadouts in the 1.1h patch of GoldenEye Source, so I was wondering what everyone preferred. Right now, I still have the random weapon script implemented because some of the custom maps don't come with weapon loadouts (thus leaving you to spawn with only youre knife and pp7, while having no guns to pick up) There are 5 maps that don't have the weapon loadouts, but I'm working on getting them...so that's pretty much the reason that I still have the random weapon implemented.

Personally, I still like the random weapon games...as its more fast paced and intense. A lot of people seem to like the ladder, though. I'll update you guys as I get things setup correctly. Noobers will probably have a harder time with regular mode as well. (In larger games it will be tough to find your weapon of choice without dieing, IMO.)

I'm also attempting to make it so that on official maps you play the regular way, and on customs you play with random weapons...just to spice things up a bit. Anywho, like I said Ill update on here as I go..

Ok, well most people that I have talked to, which is not everyone obviously...have all said they prefer the old style of play where you pickup your guns. I have decided to implement this style of play in the 1.1h servers. You can still play random gun mode in the 1.0 server for now. That is all.  Cool

Yea more and more people are starting to play the 1.1h patch. The only map as of this moment that I'm stumped on is Carrington..working on getting the weapons to load properly. For now, all that's available is a pistol. Hopefully I'll get it working soon. Cheers.

random guns are fun, but pick ups give the game more of an authentic feel and adds a level of strategy to it that you just don't get with random weapons.  i'd say switching to pick up is a good call.  also, i was in your LTK server the other day and it was bumpin'.  another good move there, keep it up man.

Yeah picking up weapons makes the feel of the original N64 Goldeneye. I still like random weapons but i wouldn't mind having to pick up weapns. The only bad thing about picking up weapons is that if you don't have any guns when you respawn and someone  near you does, i wish you good luck lol.
