Mine was around 24k down, and about 2100kbps up. Comcast rox0rs.  Tongue

Yea though, aware, if you get an extra computer you could easily run a server.

Yeah with two computers you have enough space to divide everyone from both PC's.

im thinking about getting DSL with the same advertised speed (6 Mbps) for about 20 bucks less a month but im afraid im going 2 lose my sweet connection speed. Im only saying this becuase i have friends who have the exact same cable connection as well and live less then a mile away and only get about the half the speed I do. Any opinions of dsl vs cable?

Im assuming it's possible to get your download speed around the same as you can get with cable, although with having comcast you've been spoiled without even knowing it.  Tongue It all depends what you want to do. I always like hosting servers for something, therefore I need to the upload speed that cable provides. It's probably a good assumption in saying that your upload speed will probably get cut in half, if not 80% of what you have with Comcast. Check it out though and see what upload speeds they are advertising for that 6mbps connection.

advertised speed for DSL in my area is 6 Mbps/512 Kbps @ 43 bucks

and what i have now @62 bucks
Code:
Download Statistics
------------------------------------------------------------------
Best Speed = 5.19 Mbps, Average speed = 5.16 Mbps
Worst Speed = 5.11 Mbps, Average time taken = 4.91 secs

Upload Statistics
------------------------------------------------------------------
Best Speed = 1.62 Mbps, Average speed = 1.17 Mbps
Worst Speed = 0.39 Mbps, Average time taken = 32.08 secs

so yeah my upload would be cut in half
and i would have 2 probably pay again 2 get another line directly into my room, what a bitch

Well, if you just plan on straight gaming/downloading saving 20 bucks a month would be pretty nice. You could still probably get away with hosting a small server if you wanted to mess around with that as well. As far as the install, I'm sure if you mention that you're thinking about switching from Comcast that they may do lots of stuff for free in order to help you along in the deal. Like I said though, minezwell go for it if the price is right.
